High-end kitchen in Quebec: 2026 cost of a cabinetmaker kitchen

Cabinetmaker, premium stone, Miele: the line-by-line cost of a high-end kitchen in Quebec in 2026, from $49,655 to $75,755.

A high-end kitchen is designed for the room, not the other way around. The cabinetmaker builds each cabinet box to fit the wall. The countertop is premium-brand stone or porcelain, and the appliances disappear behind panels. This level of finish comes at a price, and that price breaks down differently than you might expect.

This article is part of our series on the cost of a kitchen in Quebec in 2026. All prices were collected on October 2, 2026, in Canadian dollars, before GST and QST.

What a High-end kitchen costs

Quebec renovation guides put a complete High-end kitchen between $50,000 and $80,000, and up, including demolition, plumbing and electrical. Here is the breakdown for a typical kitchen (quantities in linear feet, LF):

What “high-end” means, line by line

Cabinets ($600 per LF) and island ($720 per LF). Built by a cabinetmaker, in veneer, solid wood, lacquer or Fenix. That is almost double the Mid-range, and cabinets remain the largest item in the budget: just over 40% of the supply cost.

Installation ($205 per LF). Done by the cabinetmaker.

Countertop ($110 per sq ft, installed). Brand-name quartz, Carrara marble or Dekton-type porcelain, fabricated and installed.

Backsplash ($25 per sq ft) and flooring ($12 per sq ft). Stone mosaic or zellige on the wall. On the floor, wide-plank engineered wood, a herringbone pattern or large-format porcelain.

Faucets and lighting.

  • Brizo, Kohler Purist or Rohl faucet: $1,100.
  • Heavy-gauge stainless steel, premium composite or fireclay sink: $1,500.
  • Top Knobs or Emtek handles: $30 each.
  • Designer pendants such as Hudson Valley or Tom Dixon: $800 each.

Appliances.

  • Custom range hood, built-in insert and cladding: $3,500.
  • Miele, Thermador or Fisher & Paykel induction cooktop: $5,800.
  • Miele, Monogram or Fisher & Paykel wall oven: $6,500.
  • Liebherr, 36-in. KitchenAid or Miele built-in refrigerator: $9,000.
  • Bosch 800 Series, Thermador or Miele dishwasher: $2,400.

Wolf, Gaggenau and Sub-Zero do not publish their prices in Canada. These brands sit above these amounts.

Options that drive up the bill

OptionPrice
9-ft ceiling (39- to 42-in. wall cabinets)$45 per LF
10-ft ceiling (full-height wall cabinets)$180 per LF
Under-cabinet lighting, manufacturer LED profiles$60 per LF
Soft-close cabinetmaker drawer cabinet$450 each
Custom glass door$120 extra per door
High-end corner organizer$700
Mitred waterfall edge, stone or porcelain$2,000
Wall tile, large-format porcelain$10 per sq ft

Under a 10-ft ceiling, full-height wall cabinets add about $6,120 over 34 LF.

Where the money really goes

At this level, appliances count almost as much as cabinets. In the typical kitchen, the cooktop, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and range hood add up to $27,200, compared with $24,720 for the cabinets and island. Two tips follow from this:

  • Decide on appliances early. A panel-ready built-in refrigerator, a clad range hood or a wall oven in a tall cabinet changes the cabinet box dimensions; the cabinetmaker needs them before drawing.
  • Put custom work where it shows. The island, the range hood and the main wall carry most of the effect; cabinet interiors and corner cabinets can stay simpler.
