How much does a kitchen cost in Quebec in 2026? The three price ranges

Budget, mid-range or high-end: what a kitchen costs in Quebec in 2026, item by item, based on more than 100 sources.

How much does a kitchen cost in Quebec? The honest answer: anywhere from $15,000 to more than $80,000, depending on the price range. That isn’t very useful until you know what’s behind each figure.

On October 2, 2026, we collected the price of every item in a kitchen across three ranges: budget (ready-to-assemble, IKEA-style), mid-range (manufacturer cabinets) and high-end (cabinetmaker, custom). More than 100 sources: Quebec retailers, price guides published in 2026 and manufacturer catalogues. This guide sums up what that means for a real kitchen, and links to a detailed article for each range.

One kitchen, three budgets

To compare like with like, we priced the same kitchen in all three ranges:

  • 18 linear feet (LF) of base cabinets and 16 of wall cabinets;
  • a 6 LF island;
  • 60 sq ft of countertop, 35 sq ft of backsplash and 250 sq ft of flooring;
  • 32 pulls, a faucet, a sink, two pendant lights, a range hood and an induction cooktop.
BudgetMid-rangeHigh-end
Supply$9,820$25,356$49,655
With cabinet installation, a wall oven, a built-in refrigerator and a dishwasher$17,270$40,656$75,755
Published all-in budget in Quebec$15,000 to $30,000$30,000 to $55,000$50,000 to $80,000 and up

All amounts are in Canadian dollars, before GST and QST (14.975%). Supply does not include installation, except for countertops, which are sold installed.

The all-in budgets published by RénoAssistance, Soumission Rénovation, Soumissions Maison and Zone Réno also include demolition, plumbing, electrical work and finishing. That is what separates our totals from the final budget: factor that gap into your planning.

Cabinets, the item that decides everything

Cabinets account for 30 to 50% of a kitchen budget, typically 40 to 45%. They are also the item where the gap between ranges is widest:

Cabinets and island, per LFBudgetMid-rangeHigh-end
Kitchen cabinets$135$310$600
Island (base cabinet boxes)$160$375$720
Cabinet installation$90$160$205
  • Budget: ready-to-assemble melamine cabinet boxes, like IKEA SEKTION.
  • Mid-range: manufacturer cabinets in polyester, thermoplastic or painted MDF.
  • High-end: cabinetmaker, in veneer, solid wood, lacquer or Fenix.

Watch how those linear feet are counted: most guides give a price “per linear foot, base and wall included,” which is not the same as a manufacturer’s price. Using one in place of the other nearly doubles the bill. We explain it in detail in The linear foot rule.

The rest of the kitchen, item by item

ItemBudgetMid-rangeHigh-end
Countertop, installed (sq ft)$25$65$110
Backsplash (sq ft)$3$10$25
Flooring (sq ft)$2.50$7$12
Pull or knob$5$13$30
Kitchen faucet$150$450$1,100
Sink$180$500$1,500
Pendant light$75$200$800
Range hood$300$1,500$3,500
Induction cooktop$1,100$3,300$5,800
Wall oven$1,800$3,900$6,500
Built-in refrigerator$1,500$3,700$9,000
Dishwasher$550$1,300$2,400

Each price is the typical price for the range, rounded. What each amount assumes (laminate or quartz, Moen or Brizo, IKEA or Miele) is detailed in the articles for each range.

Which range for your project?

The three ranges are not mutually exclusive: many successful kitchens mix them. For example, manufacturer cabinet boxes with an entry-level quartz countertop, or ready-to-assemble cabinets with custom doors and a stone work surface.

  • Budget kitchen: from $9,800 for supply to $17,300 with installation and appliances. Often chosen for a rental condo, a first renovation or a kitchen you don’t plan to keep for long.
  • Mid-range kitchen: from $25,400 to $40,700. Manufacturer cabinets, quartz and brand-name appliances.
  • High-end kitchen: from $49,700 to $75,800 before related work. Custom cabinetry, brand-name stone and European appliances.

The limits of these figures

  • These are supply prices. Cabinet installation is counted separately. Plumbing, electrical, demolition and painting are not included.
  • The cabinet rates are a floor. Published budgets often add pantries, finishing panels, mouldings and accessories.
  • Quebec guides often copy one another and rarely specify whether installation is included or how they count the linear foot.
  • Retail prices were collected on October 2, 2026, at regular price. Several retailers were running promotions that day.
